Let's talk Business Cards. Why are business cards so important? While we are living in a digital age, we still often meet others face-to-face to develop a deeper business relationship that is built on trust. This is a very key factor in that many business people will be impressed with you if you hand them a business card with a great design. This in itself will create a great first impression.
Here are a few tips and ideas to consider when creating your awesome new plastic business card:
- Determine How You'll Use Your Card: Who are you going to give the card to and in what situation? Where will you be when you hand your card out? And what do you want them to do with it? For example, one of our many customers is a swim instructor. He determined he was giving his card out around water all the time and felt that he needed something that stood out and was also durable to water (check out our YouTube video where we tested our cards against water!). Our durable plastic cards were just the thing he was looking for!
- Choose the Information You Will Include: While it is obvious it is important to include contact information on your card, some people may not think about what kind of information this should be. For example, if your company is heavily focused on net sales, it is important to make sure your website URL is the main focus of the card. If you do phone sales, the phone number should be front and center, etc.
- Pick out the Colors you Will Use: Color is an extremely important factor in creating a card that really stands out and sends the right message. You can read our article on color theory and feelings associated with color to learn more!
- Proof and Print: Make sure that you are very thorough when looking at your proof as mistakes can happen. You wouldn't want your run of 1,000 cards to have a spelling error, would you? It is always important to double or triple check your proofs before approving them.
These are all great tips and ideas that you can implement when creating your own card. Even more ideas are included in the original article which you can check out the link to right after the jump!
