How to Choose an Image for your Photography Business Cards

We speak with many photographers every day.  One of the most popular questions that they have is, "What do I put on my cards?"  Although the answer of this question varies greatly from person to person, we have a few tips and tricks that we have picked up along the way.

When you are handing out your photography business cards, it's important to make sure that the cards represent you as well as your business.  By including a portrait of yourself along with an image that is representative of your business, you are sure to be remembered every time your clients or potential client looks at your card.

How do you determine the image that would be best on the card?

There are a few different items that we can use to examine this idea.

  • Do you want your card to be black and white or color?
  • How large do you want the image on the card?
  • Will the card be transparent?
  • Is there are particular image that has received more comments than others?
  • Do you want to showcase the types of photography you do? (Babies, Children, Seniors, Weddings, Landscapes, Wildlife, Street, etc.)

Most of this decision is personal preference.  Many of our photography clients choose to have their cards printed with variable images.  What this means is that we can print different images on cards.  For instance, you could split your order up to highlight your wedding photography, family portraiture and children's photos on different cards.  Our representatives can help you through this process in deciding the best image or images for your card order.

Your next step is deciding on the layout of your card.  Lucky for you, we have a full design staff on site that can make your card truly one of a kind!
